Goedewaagen, Koninklijke Hollandse Pijpen- en Aardewerkfabriek dates back to 1610. It is the largest of the ceramics factories in Gouda. This is a second jug from the factory that was designed by 'someone' during the years of the Great Depression.
During the time period the factory was lead by Willem Hendrik van Norden (1883-1978). Once they were called in Dutch "crisis-aardewerk" i.e. Depression pottery.
But these days they are being referred to as "Experimenteel Kunstaardewerk" (Experimental Art Pottery). Design was important rather than decoration.
I just love the handle on this jug!
On the bottom it reads: ROYAL GOEDEWAAGEN/GOUDA/HOLLAND/MADE IN/HOLLAND.
There is an impressed 481 - a design number I think.
H: 10 cm or 4"
I still do not know who designed this jug!
very unique!!

So glad I got to see these! I love them both and love your display 'block', it photographs very well. What is that? A piece of glass? Would love to get (one or more)
I'm wondering, if you have a book on this, did you try # 487 instead of # 481? Just a thought...
Many thanks SHAREURPASSION!!!!!
No book that I know of as yet on these wares. And thanks for the thought about the numeration. As regards the block .... it's Perspex.
I've got two only ... As you can see in pic 4. Use them everyday. Would love more. Hard to find.
You are so welcome! I've never heard of Perspex. Let's see what I can find here on this side of the world ;) Hopefully, they won't be as hard to find and I will certainly keep an eye out for them. Keep your fingers crossed as you might be in for a surprise too ;)

Try contacting the folks here: http://www.goedewaagen.nl/
email---------> info@goedewaagen.nl
That website is written in Dutch, but I am sure if you send along a photo of your jug and ask them for help, they should oblige you. English is no problem here.
Thanks again. I will have a go. The Dutch are amazing linguists !!!!

Dank je wel ...... ik ben erg benieuwd!
I wrote to Goedewaagen and asked - no money, no help....sjonge, sjonge, sjonge...
"Sorry, dan kan ik niet verder helpen dan met de mededeling dat de kan beduidend meer waard is dan de bescheiden donatie die wij vragen voor een determinatie en taxatie. Onze niet gesubsidieerde research wordt betaald uit de donaties.
Mvrgr, Friggo Visser "
Dat is 't....
I'm not interested at all in values .... Just curious as to who the designer is.
Thanks for your efforts !!!
I told them I was only interested in the name of the designer. No cigar.
Where'd you get this jug?
I bought it here in Sydney ... actually I bought two.
There was a much larger one and this one. Same design .... different colors on the big one. Later I found out that the big one had been heavily restored. I gave it away a few years back.
The Goedewaage Museum is looking for examples now ... they gave a very low budget and are looking for donations of material. I should have given it to them.
