The upper part of the bowl is millefiori. The lower part is red 'spatter' which is completely hidden by a mirror-like golden gloss, unless you hold the bowl up to the light. Of course the millefiori and the green cloudy like background vary on the six sides. Is this Kralik Iris perhaps?
Diameter 27 cm./10. 75 inches. Height 12.5 cm./5 inches.
I love the quirky shape of these bowls Peggy. The decor reminds me of a kaleidoscope with it's myriad of beautiful colors....
Thank you, Rick. There is a lot going on but at least the colours are muted,
I love these bowls like this......
Although the Iris label has been found primarily on high gloss cased pieces, I am not sure anyone has ever figured out exactly what the parameters were for Kralik to use the label. It is seen on millefiori pieces, as well as other cased examples, such as multi colored powders with pulls. I have also seen the label on an example I would refer to as Purple Glatt.
Based on what I have seen décor wise, I am not sure what they are referencing when they use it..... possibly just a marketing name applied for specific retailers..... At this point, unknown as far as I can tell.
very cool
Nice piece sklo!
Wow - a beauty, Peggy! This style looks so modern to me, and yet has the old deco feel at the same time (if that makes any sense!)
Nice one Peggy.

Hi AnneLanders, thank you too for the love and the fine comment, though perhaps most of it isn't meant for me!! I'll just confine myself to thanking you for the complimentary part :-)
Thank you, kyratango, for the love....it's appreciated.
Nice Knuckle Bowl! The design (millefiori) is different from one that I uploaded last year but the treatment is quite similar. RER(BOB)

Thank you for the link, LOUMANAL....always interesting to see other interpretations. Yours has a more complex shape and the colours are especially lovely...to me anyway.

I am so sorry, Anne.....there's no tone of voice or facial expression here to help! Anyway I'm putting it under lock and key now lest you ever take a holiday in the old country!!! But hey happy to be addressed as friend....Peggy :-)
