Embossed metal doll trunk, it is 16 by 9 1/2 and 11 inches tall at the highest point. First picture is what the trunk looked like when I started. It was in nice condition with the original paint intact, red and silver on the embossed vine pattern, left that as is just cleaned it up. On the top the metal turned dark in the silver sections so there are color variations on the stamped metal, darker on the top than it is on the sides. I used a clear varnish to coat the embossed metal, tung oil on the slats, polished the nail heads and repainted the black trim. The interior was intact I left that as is. The slat clamps are stamped tin or similar metal one of them is brass so it was replaced over the years or when assembled a brass one was used in error. The remaining item is get handles on it, the ones you can buy for doll trunks are to small. I have to work on my leather cutting skills and make a pair to fit the existing handles.
Very nice little trunk Kathy ,I'm sure you will do fine with the leather cutting.

Drill thanks for the links. Interesting to see the ads and how much the doll trunks originally sold for.
These are just great KathyKay -- I have been offline for awhile and they slipped by me -- truly lovely pieces...
