This hand painted American Civil War album was found in a small town in Australia. Carte De Visites include: President Lincoln, Lincoln and Son, The Battle of Savage, Thadeous Lowe, Generals and battle scenes.
Here's an example of Seth Kinman and patriotic child.
There's Libby Prison and Thadeous Lowe.
Sounds like a really desirable album-- when you get the chance, it would be great to see some of the photos from the inside.

Hi Scott,
This is my first post here but I'll quickly try to work out how to upload a couple of examples for you. I'm not sure how I can add to the album image with examples if you could assist.
The album has images of Seth Kinman, Libby Prison, Bradey's Album Gallery 407, General Grant and other Generals, soldiers etc it's really interesting. It has genuine stamps on back and signed on Carte de Visites ( I have only examed a couple from behind). I found it in a second hand shop hidden on a book shelf. It came with two other albums that are of Australian content. The area is a gold mining area around that time . I suspect the Americans possibly came out to Australia, as one images matches the same person in the Australian Album.
The images are as vivid as when they were taken and some studio marked on the Carte de Visite. A beautiful album full of history.
As valentino said, you can add photos to the listing.
It is a GREAT find..... and worth a good deal of money. It amazes me that it ended up in your area!

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you. I was on Australian time. Thank you Valentin for your assistance.
Scott,
The area in which it was found used to be a gold mining area around . Many Americans crossed the ditch in search of gold. The Australian album is fascinating with carte de visite portraits, tin types etc.
Thank you for your interest and help,
Sue.
GREAT interior images. The Kinman image is not the one typically seen. I also like the Lowe and Libby images.
GREAT FIND.

Thanks Scott.
Libby prison is very interesting to see.
Great find ! A real treasure ! I love the picture of the observer .
Thankyou Paul. Funny, I was researching a photograph from the album last night. It's a beautiful album and I bought it in a country second hand store. At first, I thought it was an old bible.
I've just uploaded another image of an example of the pages. The bottom left image is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thaddeus_S._C._Lowe
