Whilst not sure what I should call this (please enlighton me) I am very pleased to have found it! Not least because when it arrived it proved to be what I'd hoped i.e. the same Welz décor as the basket you've seen before.
You can see very well, on the bottom half, that the combination of horizontal ribbing and the pulling to form the pedestal disguises the
décor considerably.
Height 19 cm./7.5 inches
beautiful!!!!
Now this I love!! Congrats!!
Thank you SEAN, lovely comment....and you're maintaining your reputation as the fastest draw on CW :-)
Thankyou sklo and your very welcome sklo!!! :)
Thank you Moonstonelover, me too.....very girly :-)
I was looking at this, but resisted bidding... I love this piece.... and yet again, another example of my favorite décor by Welz.
The base with a different top is shown in a Fairly Lamp catalog....fairly lamp or miniature jardiniere and pedestal..... what ever you call it.... it is fabulous.....
It may simply be a small pedestal and Jardiniere...... or some tea lights were smaller back then..... I really do not know.... :-) It may be that they simply opted to produce a decorative piece using an existing pedestal mold.... We will probably never really know..... But we will always know it is gorgeous!!
What size diameter is the base of the bowl?
Mine is about 1.5", which approximates the typical size that I have seen:

Thank you so much, Craig. Firstly for your original comment...so full of much appreciated enthusiasm. Secondly for answering the questions in the reply I deleted because I hadn't started with 'Thank you'. And thirdly for sharing your research which has 'educated' my glass collecting no end!
I've never seen a Jardiniere and pedestal before... As my friend Rose says, "Wowser"!!
Hello scott, this one is the same....1.5", though the inside base is narrower of course. Good thing I'm not planning to use it....there again a tea light would probably fit the recess which takes the bowl.
It is a great find!
It is unusual to find the two pieces together-- I have only seen a handful or so with matching bowl in years of collecting.

Thanks Rick.....perhaps we'll have to call it a 'wowser' as it's proving difficult to say what exactly it is! Still that never stopped us :-)
Thank you scott, that is interesting. The seller had two, same décor, though he said one was paler than the other. I'm pleased....who knows when, or even if, I'll ever see another one. Peggy
Very true Peggy :) You're welcome..
Thank you, Alan, Manikin and aghcollect.
Thank you mikelv.
Just lovely and so lucky to have them both still together...well done!.. Did you get the other one, I would not have been able to resist it...:-))
Thanks inky, one was enough! I don't go looking for pairs....but I do admit that when obliged to buy a pair I can never get rid of one!
Thank you, surfdub.
I could eat this.... just yummy glass!
Love this, the bowl makes me think it is salt size? absolutely gorgeous together!!!!!
Another beautiful two piece. This 'tissue paper' like decor is my favourite.
Peggy, I just read your comment on 'pairs', you made me smile, I'm the same, when obliged to by two, which are not a true pair, I always think I'll keep one and sell the other but then hate to split them up, lol
Funny thing Karen, I absolutely love some but not all. Still plenty to go at here......I can pick and choose :-)
Perfumer....thank you! The bowl measures 6.5cm./2.5" high and 8cm./3" in diameter.
Fran, thank you so much.....also the colours are pretty on this décor :-)
As to your second comment, I fear the collector gene is very close to the hoarder gene......but don't tell anyone!!!
Thank you, surfdub, glasslove, VioletOrange, Ivonne, fortapache and smiata for the loves.
I didn't see this Peggy before posting mine :-)
No worries, Ian.....but hey, Snap!....yet again :-)
