Roseville "Fuchsia" Hanging Pottery Planter. I found this at a local shop today. Does anyone know if there should be some kind of mark on this? There is no mark and the information I read on line is confusing. It looks like the real thing. I cannot see how this could be stamped with the Roseville name given the shape (?). I am hoping that someone can help.
Thanks to rocker-sd for helping solve my questions:
Great find! I have collected roseville pottery for years, and now just collect one color and pattern. You guessed it, Blue Fuscia Roseville. Your piece is definitely the real deal, plus hanging planters are hard to find, especially in good shape. The reproductions could never match this blue, or get the crisp castings on the leaves.
Love hanging planters !!!!!
vetraio50, Thank you!
I don't know Roseville but I love this hanger. Great shape, beautiful blue, lovely fushcias.
racer, Thank you so much! I hope that someone out there is a Roseville expert.

rocker-sd, Are these planters never marked? According to the internet these pieces from this time period should be marked (?). I could not find any like this on the internet.
STUNNING!!!
SEAN, Thank you!

TallCakes, Thank you!
I think you will find most Roseville hanging baskets are not marked. A lot of Roseville before 1936 was not marked or marked with paper labels that were washed away. The hanging baskets do not have a base where roseville is normaly marked. Some baskets might have hand written marks, in pencil or grease pen from the factory. The fushcia basket would be marked 359-5".
rocker, Thank you so much for all of the info. It is really appreciated. I believe that I read that this basket was made after 1936. I figured that it may have not been marked because there is no good place to mark it. I guess that I got a really good deal considering the prices on a few I just found on line this AM.
The ones I have (in a couple of different patterns and styles) are not marked. The only thing I see missing is the chain. Nice piece!
upstate, Thank you! No chain...had to get my own.
nutsabotas6, Thank you!
I love this Fuchsia pattern. I agree that most of Roseville pieces are not marked. the fact that this piece hangs and the entire body is covered in design, makes sense why this one is not marked. Most Roseville collectors will tell you that "You know it when you see it". (Thank you Aunt Liz). Lori
RichmondLori,
Thank you so much for your comment! I love this pattern.
