Hello,
I haven't been out much but did manage to get to an estate sale today where I found some very lovely pieces.
Though the photos are pretty awful, this is a beautiful thing.
I got to the sale late and couldn't believe it was left behind, and half price!
It stands approximately 7+1/4" high, has a terrific shape and a bit of etching/cutting, the eyes, lips, and necklace.
It was used, and a little dirty inside, but I've discovered a method of cleaning that has been very successful, and this piece now sparkles.
( what I do is fill a dirty vase part way with rice, add some water, and shake, shake, shake,................you'd be surprised how well it works, and the rice is non abrasive!!). This technique may sound dumb, but I'd tried a method that a collector friend recommended with little success. I hope it helps someone.
Back to the vase:). I can't read the signature on the bottom rim, but it may say 'Kosta'. Looks vintage and is in remarkable condition.
Immediately it reminded me of Bjorn Wiinblad design, but I don't know and haven't been able to find another on my internet search.
Any help, looks, or loves appreciated,
and Happy Mother's Day to all of your Mothers! and all that are Mothers!

Well, just found it on CW.
By Vicke Lindtstrand, dating from 1958~59
called ' Sophie Sophisticate '
I hope you like it.
I adore her!
Such a beautifully made piece and amusing too. Well done !!
It looks like development of Lindstrand's "fish" vases from 1953.
