The Argus A was a 35mm camera, made in Ann Arbor Michigan from 1936-1941. It has a 50mm f4.5 anastigmat lens and the body is made of bakelite. This was the first camera that Argus produced and was a very popular camera. It came in a few different colors, black being the most popular whereas grey, brown and olive drab are more rare.
I'm always amazed these things still exist, with box and pamphlet. You must search hard!!
Sometimes it's just sheer luck finding them with box and manual/paperwork. I have quitea few of them in my collection.
I just came across 2 of these and love the look. They were mixed in with a huge lot of cameras that my dad left to me. I never got to enjoy his hobby with him and now that I have to deal with it all...I think I'm becoming a collector.
Yeah, Argus made a few cameras like this. The more "candid" camera look. Great to see you on here CW.
