Finally found one with a label. 'Japan' seems to suggest it's either pre 30's, For the European market, or, just made it through customs at some time without being destroyed. Can someone tell the maker from the base please?

This is actually a 60s vase and I believe it is from OTK. It was possibly labelled with an importer's sticker as well when sold, such as Olimco or Nasco (or any one of many other importer names).
This generic blue JAPAN sticker was a regular on vases exported in the 60s, although most people picked them off (as most do with Made in China stickers today).
Nice shape and hot work to this one!

Cheers racer4four. Great info. Love the era. I just looked at it again to see if the label is folded under, or torn off. It is in fact torn off having had a closer look. Nice to see it resisted a label removal attempt. Now the glue is dried and the label has separated just to over half way across to where it still clings on. Can't help but notice it's a heavy little vase as well. Some day i'll have it all cleaned up and post some better pics.
