Well this was the third purchase from the Collectors' Fair Day a fortnight ago now. It came with the Loetz and variegated vases that I have already posted on CW. And there couldn't be anything quite so different I suppose!
In fact I was at the table buying the Loetz vase when a dear friend approached and said to me "Have you seen the vase with the ball? It looks Czech?" I asked him to show me and as soon as I saw it I said: "That is Beranek! I'm having that too!" The price was right, as well!
It is missing its sticker which would have said Glass Atelier Beránek and these were not signed.
But I have been waiting for the opportunity to arise.
It came in a few colours and a clear version as well. I was lucky to have found reference to an Glass Atelier Beránek catalogue on the net and saw that its catalogue number is 9727/20. There were also two other related versions of this concept by Jirí Beránek with a larger marble/ball numbered 9728/30 & 9728/20. By the way the 97 refers to the year of initial production: 1997. The 20 and 30 refer to the height of the vases.
The Beránek name is the link with my collection of Skrdlovice glass. The earlier factory was created by Emanuel, Bohuslav and Josef Beránek. Jirí Beránek (b. 1954) is the grandson of Bohuslav (1901 - 1986) and the son of Jaroslav Beránek (1927 - 2006); all three generations worked at Skrdlovice.
The Glass Atelier Beránek was a project begun by Jaroslav and Jirí Beránek in 1994. I am unsure whether they are still in production but as of yesterday their website is still functioning.

My pleasure always Kevin have a top day & I hope you have finished helping mum move & all went well there we put my mum in-law in the ground a week ago & my man is doing a lot better then I thought he would they were really close I'm glad I can honestly say I did like her a lot. Everyone behaved with no ill manners like you normally see at funerals & weddings after a few. Wish people would get it if you cannot behave while drinking don't do it. To easy
