I have this strange pin brooch. By the c clasp and bar I believe it to be Victorian. It is not marked and I can't even tell if it is gold in color or silver. Very detailed wings. There are letters on it E and C. Don't know if it is a fraternal thing. Or a gift. Don;t know if it is for a woman or man. Beautiful workmanship. Has anyone seen any like it or know what it is?

It looks like a highly embellished stylized military Observer wing.

The "EC" letters don't fit for any military affiliation I am familiar with-- maybe a sweetheart piece or possible something outside of the military.

The pin and catch is typical of UK products.

You are probably right. There have been several pins and stuff from the UK. Could it be some hospital thing? Or maybe it is a sweetheart thing. Still a nice piece.

I just wonder if its E O C behind the E C looks like a key hole shape
      Or a O.

I thought maybe the same thing. I have several English nurse pins. Just wonder maybe this is somehow related to the nursing? I love finding these strange pieces and trying to find the story behind them.
