This is not a really common style of glass for the Japanese although they did make similar in ashtrays and paperweights.
This is the largest item I have seen in this controlled bubble and cased technique, and a nicely made large vase at 24cm.
How do I know it's Japanese?
Once, before a helpful person washed it, it did have a Made in Japan sticker on the base!
