Couldn't resist this piece of eye candy from Volunteer's of America this morning. A huge Limoges style 18" vase. I love the cobalt blue and all the raised and detailed gilded decoration. The center panel is a transfer print of a Jean Honore' Fragonard courting couple painting and is not hand painted. It's the same on both sides. The bottom is stamped European Designs (Decorative use only not for food) in gold. So what kind of food would you put in this anyway ?? It has all the hallmarks of a Hong Kong or Macau made vase. The handles are so typically Asian as well as all the moriage decoration. Even the bottom is the same unglazed bisque as some of my large Asian floor vases. Not much about the company but there are a few pieces by this same maker on Ebay. I found someone selling a pair of this exact same vase on Ebay and they wanted six hundred dollars and two hundred for shipping !!....they didn't sell. This one was a bargain at only fifteen dollars. A spectacular decorative piece and in perfect condition. -Mike-
I don't know Ken.....other than the fact that I hit these places everyday so there's always something to be found. You should check out the Savers in Rocky River if you get a chance.
I like the sides better than the front and back lol. Sappy lovers.....
I see the Oriental in it too. Star find again!
lol...Thanks Karen :)....Yes the gold decor is very bling and over the top. Had the panels been hand painted it would have been so much better.
I will start to go there soon...... Look like nice piece sit there.
I have one in the same area , as my others store,I am going to.
Lovely limoge pottery, nice catch.

Thanks Alan :)......our Savers has only been open a little over a month so they're still stock piling. Always nice to have a new alternative to shop at during the dry spells.

Hi hope you see this but I just found this exact vase at a local auction for a bid of $20, nobody has bid on it yet and I'm going to assume it's well worth the $20?
