Lord Krishna and Radha, Krishna's friend and advisor: her connection to Krishna is of two types: svakiya-rasa (married relationship) and parakiya-rasa (a relationship signified with eternal mental "love").
Is that a flute in his hand?
"The Lord is accustomed to blow His flute (ve?u? kva?antam). His transcendental form is the most attractive in all the worlds—His eyes are like lotus petals, and the color of His body is like the color of clouds. He is so attractive that His beauty excels that of thousands of Cupids." - Bhagavad-Gita, 8:21
The cow was a favoured pet of Krishna. Padmagandha and Pisangaksa were Krishna's pet oxen. as a shepherd he was known as Govinda. The peacock, the cow and all nature became devotees of Krishna.
"They like to serve Krishna in different capacities. Somebody is serving Krishna as animal. Somebody is serving Krishna as fruits and flowers, as tree, as Yamuna water, or the beautiful cowherds men and damsels or Krishna's father and mother, so many with Krishna. Krishna is not impersonal. So He has got so many lovers. Krishna also loves them. So Krishna's another name is pasu-pala, pasu-pala-pankaja. He is, mean, tender of the animals. Surabhir abhipalayantam. He takes pleasure in tending the cows, surabhi. These are surabhi cows, not these ordinary cows, surabhi cows. Surabhi cows means you can milk the cow as many times as you like and as much milk as you like. That is surabhi."
Thanks Kevin, Yes I believe it is a flute in his hand, much work in making this, with four different cast. This is first time I have seen a Hindu or Buddhist statue on marble! I really liked it and paid $177. for it and happy. I really believe Lord Krishna may be the Most interesting man in the World!
