Made by Ohio Art & amazing that the heads were intact.
Also, see the 1956 ad for the drums. Wow..
I am a drummer & played professionally for many...many years before becoming a freelance photog- the other creative job that makes no money, lol.. But I love my crafts & what I do.
I found this in a local Kansas City drum shop ( now gone) called Kansas City Drumworks. They were good friends & built me a custom kit that I still play & love.
They had this toy kit up for sale (this is 25 years ago) for $175 & a local restaurant/diner was about to buy it to hang on their walls.
I thought- "No way. I'm saving this for history's sake" & I begged them to sell it to me & they said "It's yours" Yes!!
That restaurant (Lucille's) burned to the ground a year later.
Hmmmmm... So I really HAVE saved it!
These types of drums barely survived Christmas morning. I;m happy to have this out & on top of my toy rocket & spaceship cabinet..
Love it so cool and glad to hear it was saved from fire !
Sooo cool!
Well cool story and save, I replied to your Savannah comment....I grew up in St. Joe and did a lot of running in Savannah, parents live there now
