This little green boy has been with me a couple of months now, but I still haven't worked out whether he is a synthetic material, and would appreciate any tips on testing whether or not he is jade. He has some weight to him and measures 13cm x 6cm. He has a lovely transparency under light, but he seems a little modern in his shape (although his buttocks are quite ample!). Hope you like him. Lynette.

Jim, tried the test you suggested and checked through magnifying glass. I couldn't see any hole or scratch on the area I used needle on. That could be a good sign!
      Cheers Lynette.

Wow, thanks again Jim. I live close to a Uni and not too far from some TAFE colleges, it might take a little while but I will certainly follow up on your advice, Regards Lynette.

Not need to test, I strongly believe it's a piece of Xiu Jade, pronounced like word SHOW. It's a common jade found in northeast of China. It's a Jade in the broad sense, but not 'The Jade' which refers to He Tian Jade only.

Appreciate your feedback shrine, and value your advice.I have not had tested yet (on my agenda). I'm happy to learn that it is an earth stone and not synthetic!
