Hi
Everyone.
I have to say i am a birds watcher for 45 years, i see many birds, big , small, nest, strange behavior by them, nice, and bad, in my Birds watcher carrear i have being attack bybird of prey more then my time.
After all those years, i really enjoy it, an that's included some research for the Canadian Wildlife Federation(1990-1996), the story i will share with you, start on May the 8, that day, i have a text message for my wife mentioning that 2 small owl have chase 2-Raccoon in my backward, well i ask "what kind of Owl"she say, they are very small, then she look in feild guide an say they look like Screech owl , i say" Really ", i start thinking, this behavior was not common other then in nesting condition.
That same day, i have an appointement for repairing my Muffler at the garage shop after work, when i am there, i have another text from my wife, that say she see the owl in a tree in our backward, "hurry she say, maybe youy will see it to "OMG, my car was on the lift jack in the Garage, no choice i have to wait.
When i cameback home i am be able to find the owl resting in the same tree that my wife saw it, picture (1)it was 4:30 pm, sleeping as usual owl do during day time, now my duty was to find the nest, during the following day's when i am off work, observe the owl all day, also take few video of him(i was pretty sure this was the male, because only the female cover the nest on incubation time(21 day's)
At one moment during observing(video) the male, i see his look in one direction, i see his eyes coming very big, also streech is neck, it's take no time he desapear, she ask for food, that what i am thinking.
I go where the owl have look, and found the nest, lucky me she still have the head partially out(picture(2)
Weeks past and more often i see them together, picture(3),, grooming and clean each other, so i start questioning about how many chick where about to emerge from that hole.
Today, 06-7, i have my answer, picture (4), i was able to frame 3 together, i was so lucky they look all healty and big, i count a total of 5 chick out the small hole, not sure yet few more could be around, the cluch usual are 4 to 8, i was so lucky that happen in my backward, was very interesting and time consumming, but this is no matter. I LOVE BIRD.
Those owl alway's very high in the tree, i have no equipements anymore(big 600mm lend or camera)those picture was taken with my Iphone 5s and a Busnhell Telescope.
Thanks for Viewing.

Many thanks, shareurpassion, for the comments and the love, much appreciated.
Oh yeah, the nest was not an easy access, old Hearry Woodpicker, also some squirrel made it bigger few winter in a row, so perfect size for this huge Owl family.
After few days they come familiar with me, but still don't let me go out of Vision.
Alan
Many thanks Ivonne for the kind Comment, much appreciated.
With this couple of Owl in the backward, i have to say, very quite in the 250 feet deep garden, nobody else want to stay around, everything should comeback to regular birds(Nortthern oreole, woodpicker,Morning Dove, Nuthache, Common blackpole, black Chickedee, House Finch, Red Cardinal, Warbling Vireo, and so on) very busy backward.
