I bought this chair for a dollar from a woman in my town. She told me it was "old" but knew nothing else about it. I absolutely loved the details and always had intentions of fixing it (it clearly needs help). Anyone have any idea how old it is? Where it came from? Any information is greatly appreciated! Thanks for solving my chair mystery! I am not sure what type of material is inside of it... there is a back to it which fell off and is not pictured.

This chair is a similar style to a rocking chair I know of from Pennsylvania USA. It was acquired in 1960s and, at the time, was thought to be made before the Great Depression but after 1900. Yours looks like it has green stained wood. The one I know is dark brown stained oak. Although well made these were not high end furniture of their day. Hope this helps.

Aesthetic Movement decorative elements I think.

Aesthetic movement...interesting. The chair I was talking about is built like a tank. Has survived a lot of use, really made to last. You got a bargain.
