Years ago I dragged this home from the scrap metal pile. The looks on the peoples faces were priceless. Why would I want this piece of junk?! Well it happens to be my favorite piece of furniture that I have. It is about 3.5 -4 feet tall and HEAVY. It now is covered with some beautiful plants and fits right at home under a skylight. I do not like to refinish the things I find. The original rust/chipped paint is what draws me to the pieces in the first place.
If anyone has any information on this piece let me know! I always called it a toolbox but it may not be...looks pretty old :)
Chipped paint rules. I got my own metal cabinet that many others may question.
Yours looks like something that would hold various parts with an index card to say what is in each drawer.
Old library index card keeper maybe. Remember those things before computers. :)
beautiful piece!! rust and blue paint does rule!
So happy to find other rust lovers..they are rare around here! Its does kinda look like something in a library. Many years ago. :)
The drawer size and whether or not they are divided would help determine is use.
Great looking cabinet, looks better than some I've hauled home.
If it for library index cards there would probably be a metal shaft that goes along the length of each drawer. These were to keep the cards from walking away or misplaced.
These are Great for tools, nuts and bolts, etc. I have 2 of them but had to pay 40 bucks each at a used office furniture outlet. Mine held IBM Punch cards, of which there were a few still inside.
Nice Find!
Hey girl, GREAT find! Looks beautiful the way it is, I wouldn't touch it. EXCELLENT eye!
