I LOVE this - always wanted one and never found one until May this year. I paid less than $5.00. She is chalkware. The people I bought her from did not know anything about her. I looked up the numbers on the side and Googled the photo, but got bupkus. She has a tiny bit of plaster missing on the tip of her nose, but other than that is in good condition. She hangs on the wall in my retro decorated spare room.
Comments welcome.
That is totally cool, wow, love it. Great find! :)
beautiful face on her !
@katherinescollections & Manikin - Thanks! She really is gorgeous. I had thought they would ask a big price for her, but no! I wish I knew what the numbers/letters on the side meant.
In the UK we Bossons and Legend has the main retro makers. Yours is stunning.
Same maker mark but no photos, and no other information:

katherinescollections - I saw your comment too late - the photo the seller had up was gone. Interesting that the same markers marks/numbers were on it.
She is glorious, looks more Sophia Loren than Brigitte Bardot though :-)
Yes, that's who I thought as well, Sophia Loren. :)
Efesgirl, the head had something of the same glam look as yours, but there wasn't anything much to learn from the post, the only thing I found sort of interesting was this Tretchikoff Era she mentioned, don't know what that refers to but may be a lead.
kyratango, thanks for your comment. The eyes are like those of the glorious Sophia Loren, but the nose is more BB. I wonder if it's a composite of both of them.
katherinescollectibles: I find it quite interesting that the markings on the chalkware head on eBay are the same as what is on mine. I wish I knew what it meant! Gah! :)
Another couple of ideas for you. Check Marwal, which makes heads similar to yours.
And this outfit makes repros of vintage heads:

Thanks, katherinescollections! Will do.
Wow! Sophia Loren and her gorgeous eyes! A great piece, for sure.
I can't seem to track down exactly who made her, though... :(
HAPPY NEW YEAR, EFESGIRL !!!!
