    Hi all,
I bought this chest on UK eBay a good while ago and the seller knew very little about the item.

If anyone could shed any light on the piece, I'd be very grateful.

    The approx dimensions are 27" x17" x17"

    Many thanks
    Mark

Looks like a European trunk -- big rivets on the slats and metal handles. I have seen slightly similar ones that were made in England. Most likely early 1900's. The latches look to be a standard North American type -- but there were ordered from all over. What is the lettering on the lock plate?
