This is Bonzo !!
Made by wade Heath ,Flaxman ware in the 1930s
Roughly 4-1/4" h in cool blue ..
Found in a skip surprisingly undamaged !!
This was modelled after the famous Bonzo dog created by George Studdy in 1922..
This one is numbered 389.

Hey! Just to let you know his name is actually Pongo! He comes in a range of colours including a gorgeous lilac colour! Can't believe he was in a skip!!! If you ever consider selling let me know, he would fit in with my other 3 Pongo's! Simply gorgeous!! Great find :)

On the wade website he's listed as Bonzo !! But I have heard of pongo !!
I've only ever seen this one & one other by sylvac !
I knew they did these in a range of colours but just hav'nt seen any apart from on web pages,
Sorry but I don't think I'll ever sell him, but if I ever change my mind I'll give you a shout ;-)
he was a cool rescue\find from the skip..

I can give you more information if you require year he was made etc ? Interesting he is listed as Bonzo but he is definitely Pongo. I'm an avid Wade collector and have a couple of these in other colours, keep an eye out for more cool things!! Love finding things in skips.
