Zenith 1950 G2327R7 TV , in incredible condition for it's age, hardly a blemish on it ! And plugging it in the valves glow, there's a hum and crackle coming from the speaker and I'm sure I saw some lines on the screen ! (maybe my imagination ). I would like this to go somewhere where it will be appreciated for the beauty that is within this piece of history. Can someone suggest how I should proceed?

Cool piece by the way..... seeing the early sets in good condition is not something that happens all that often. This set has a classic look to it....

In interesting piece of TV trivia for you also.

Originally TV tubes were round like this one. Later on the tubes were rectangles. It you draw a circle around a rectangular tube face, the four corners will touch the circle. The diameter of the circle is equal to the distance diagonally on the rectangle. This is why TV's screens were measured across diagonal corners for the dimension. Although the tube faces were rectangular, we were still measuring the diameter of the round tube.

Hope that makes sense to you.

My dad had a TV store--one of the first in Chicago--This could be 1948-1950? We had one of course--just like this one! Here comes a bunch of memories for me. There are collectors for these who also collect the parts and tubes to fix them. I'd go "Google" and get in touch. It should be fun!!

Yes I'm in California. This is a 1950 TV from what I found. I found this being sold today and just had to buy it and I wasn;t too surprised that it worked. I connected a " wire aerial" and I actually had music coming through ! I was half expecting to hear Glenn Miller.

Beautiful set. Maybe post on eBay for local pickup only if selling. You could also consign possibly at a local antique shop. Personally, I would keep it.

WoW I hit the time line right just using my memory only. So far no memory loss here. Thanks God!
I just loved seeing that set. Thanks for putting it on!!!
Dad owned "Airwave TV" in Chicago. (Robert Kirkwood Graham and his partner Joe Catalano.) He let me test the tubes!! I felt so useful. My grandma tended the store when they went out on house calls. House calls for your TV...now that sounds so odd.

Dad has my grandparent's first TV in the library, plays old B&W movies on it, does wonders for Bela Lugosi. So atmospheric.

I have to say I'm tempted to keep it....however my wife has other ideas....TV or wife ?

I have to say try to keep both, could take a while before you see another one like that, and in working order it's even not often you see that(agree with wez)

If I were a child, I think I'd be frightened of it. It looks like a '40s robot form space. LOL.

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! I have a friend in Brownsville, CA (NEar Marysville) who collects and repairs Tube radios. I wonder if he knows someone. I'd LOVE to have it! And yeah - with a converter box & rabbit ears - it should work!

How did it smell when you turned it on? I still remember the smell of burning dust and hot wires when you turned on the TV!
