All have evidence of use of a snap tool or gadget (dimples on the otherwise smooth, moulded base), for the shaping of the rims and application of glass trails to rim and body where seen.

The colours are definitely lighter than seen in other tango wares, perhaps partially as the glass layers are so fine.

The applied glass trails are amethyst (black) or dark blue, as you can see.

They are between 16.5 and 24cm tall.

Very nice grouping. As you know, solid colors with applied contrasting glass is a deocr style which can be difficult to attribute. In many cases we have to look to shapes in order to do so.

In the case of gadget use and no pontil work, although not absolutely solid proof of Welz production, it is something that points much more towards their production than away. The other known major exporters of the region are not really known, at least at this point, to have used gadgets extensively.

The blue JIP form is a nice example in a great color. This form is not seen all that much, and it has been found in a similar rim with a different foot but in red variegated décor by Welz. Those examples also had applied contrasting rim color, body coils, and no pontil marks indicating gadget use.

      More great stuff here!!

Ian, I came across a very pale pink Tango vase very similar to yours recently - it is such an unusual Tango color combination, and I just love it. These all look really nice together - you have great taste!
