Thanks for looking, I'm in a bit of a conundrum with this one (what's new!) I bought this ginger jar at a Sunday market stall yesterday, it immediately took my eye. The jar stands about 21cm, has a Japanese look and hand painted black with red and green floral arrangements touched up with gold which carries through to the back. The champion of the piece is the humming bird (?) which stands out quite clearly. The jar is of a ceramic type painted over, the base indicates that paint has been scraped off. Although the look and feel indicate a genuine article unfortunately there is no mark on the base. It may even be a Home Decor piece but I hope not. Comments would be appreciated. Hope you like it.
That's certainly an interesting decor. I took a look around but couldn't find anything like it, sorry I couldn't help. One of the Asian experts may come by and leave a comment. Good luck!

Oldandsilly thank you so much sharing your knowledge with me. I guess it comes down to a personal like or dislike. I like the strong colours, it will have to remain a mystery unfortunately. :)
