For years, I have casually looked for the maker of this family heirloom which my grandmother insisted I have. I don’t know why, I guess because it once belonged to my great grandmother. However, I never like this type of glass, and my wife doesn’t either. Never the less, I was always curious to know. I always assumed it was Fenton, and the style with its crimped ruffled rim and blue Opalescent color certainly resembled Fenton. But I was wrong. With the help of the WV Glass Museum in Weston, WV, I finally determined it was made by Jefferson Glass Co. Steubenville, OH 1903-1904. The pattern (OMN) Heacock aka Swirling Maze.
