This lamp is brass ( I'm guessing by the metal base underneath that the Lucite lets the eye see), with porcelain overlay ( I'm guessing because it's the only glass that covers brass, & it clearly feels like glass- it's cold, rings when touched with fingernails), & has hand etching flower designed tooled into a design ( the tooling looks sort of like a leather tooler), then it's painted in 24KT gold ( I'm also guessing BC the gold has a separate finish from the anodized bronze color on 3 sides. The lucite square base makes me think it's from 1939. The lucite doesn't make any sense bc the style is clearly 1930's but then lucite? The inside bottom photo shows a label reading made in india. My GrandMothers lamp from Jersey City NJ. She came over from ireland to USA in 1921. Was married & had 3 kids in the 1920's as a single mothers & became a citizen of America in 1931. She ran the famous dinner in Jersey city NJ sent her kids to private schools & summer camps while she worked hard & by did had a strong work ethic. Became very wealthy in or around 1966 (I am looking at all the traveling she did in her passports). I remember as a kid she sponsored a return trip to ireland with a lot of her grandkids ( not me), She later retired from the restaurant business to a house in Clifton NJ. but never quit working elsewhere. She only identified with successful hard working women mostly immigrants, but never had time for deep friendships, just work & family. This lamp was handed down to my Mother, & now me lamp is 26" tall. Top of lamp depth is 4.25" the bottom of lamp is 3 7/8" deep. Then there is the lucite. This lamp has a very Deco or 30's vibe. Helena Rubenstein comes to mind ( Lucite queen)
