10" Tall'
Mark on bottom; 456 Italy t.s (any info on the artist would be appreciated).
I have searched some sites on Italian Pottery marks with no luck :(
White base with black and blue hand painted designs.
Goodwill find.
Like I really needed another pitcher ;)
have a weakness for them....
stunning!!!
I reckon it's by the Fratelli Fanciullacci !!!
It's beautiful and really well potted.
I ADORE THAT HANDLE AND THE TRIANGULAR DETAIL ....
WOW !!!!
Vetrai50 that open triangular detail is what caught my eye....never have seen that before.
Thank you and Sean for you comments and love.
just wonder what the "t.s" stands for?
Nice mid-century design!
Just fantastic jug.
I'm not so sure it's Fratelli Fanciullacci although Vetraio is usually right!
The base seems too flat and I have never seen one of theirs' with a handle like that.
Maybe ask the Italian Facebook Group?

racer4four thank you for the comment and suggestion.
I posted it there but no response yet.
That is one awesome pitcher!!! I have to tell you, I don't think that says Italy either... even the numbers to me looks like Chinese or Japanese writing and those look like symbols instead of saying Italy. Sorry Kev. And Karen is right, vetraio usually is right...
I love the shape and decor of this pitcher, thanks for sharing it, melaniej. :)
Sorry Sue it does say Italy! That was their way of signing it - lots of makers did it like that!!
The main reason I don't think it's FF Melanie is the base - FF typically had a ring base that was usually glazed in the centre. I have also never seen them do a cut out like that, they were more likely to scraffito or add texture. The decor itself screams Italy 50s but that doesn't mean FF.
The clay colour looks right but there were many many potters working from Florence in the 50s and most records are lost. I hope you get an answer from the FB group.
Found a piece with cut out design by an "Alvino Bagni"
I will continue to research ;)

The writer of that piece invited others to send inquiries, perhaps you'd want to pursue that. :)
