My father was in Royal Australian Air Force during WW11. He was sent to "Occupied Japan" and also New Guinea. Some of his bits and pieces include photos and photo postcards of Japan and New Guinea during those times. I have a small collection of Ainu people photo postcards, none have been written on, some of which have a faint divide for two sections on the back and some have no divisions.
The Ainu people are fascinating reading and a brief history can be found on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ainu_people and other relevant websites. It is intriguing to learn how race, culture and tribes evolved and how and if they survived, resulting in the world we live in today.
This particular photo is of 2 Ainu women. They have tattoos around their lips which were started at an early age. Hope you like it.
