From what I have researched, the Ainu people worshipped the bear. Apparently they were captured as cubs and brought into the family to live and treated like one of their children until about 2 years of age. When the bear came of age they were sacrificed and their blood was drank for the power and spirit of the bear. After death the bear skin was held in high regard and worship.
The first photo I think is of bear baiting prior to sacrifice, the second is a man being playful with young bear and the third photo is of a young bear climbing up a tree. Please correct me if wrong on my comments. Hope you like them.
