An extremely difficult vase to photograph but it ticks all the good boxes for me. 1960s is my estimation.
Made from a coral red glass with a moss green case which has been worked into ribs. An odd colour combo but very Japanese.
In life it is a dark vase and needs light to come alive.
Like all Kurata glass it is beautifully made. Kurata had (and still have as Tuskiyono) an ethic of creativity and excellence that I think puts their work at the top of the Japanese art glass pile.
Height 27cm
A beautiful red wine color!
