Again I would appreciate any comments from forum members. The little porcelain (egg shell?) cup and saucer is quite colourful and on either side shows a different scene of Japanese lady and men by the river which is carried through to the pattern on the saucer. The signature on both cup and saucer appear to be hand painted and from my research could be "Nippon" from the first two characters (Please correct me if I guess wrong) but I could not find the third character association. Also I have doubts about quality, although visually lovely, has a paint smudge on the inside rim. It is 5.5 cms high on saucer. Hope you like it.
My gosh, that is beautiful decor, and look at that translucence! I hope one of our Asian experts on here can help you out. :)
Thanks again for you nice comments and luv katherinescollections, the translucence is truly lovely, but for some reason the light blue cup and saucer posted recently seems to be even finer. Perhaps because it isn't painted? I would love to know the story behind the paintings too. :) Thanks for the luvs AnneLanders and PaulMartin :)
