This a trunk in which the thought was it came over in the 1800s from Norway. The inside lid where the picture of the lady is actually a secret department. If anyone has any information that would be great. Thank you

A very nice higher quality "Waterfall" or "Monitor" style trunk from the late 1880's to 90's. The parts look North American -- and the truth of the matter is is that there were as many imported trunks crossing to Europe as there were trunks coming from Europe -- passing each other on the way over. Norwegian trunks are typically more of the blanket box style and have hand painted motifs on them. The acorn pattern on this one is extremely nice and hopefully some of our more knowledgeable "trunkers" could add to what I have said... (or correct for that matter)
Thank you for the post and welcome to Collector's Weekly.
