The style of the chevrons seem to be Civil War thru the Indian Wars. The others are obviously more modern armour. Scott, where are you? He will know.

Not sure if it is a chevron or something else-- what size is it?

The armor branch insignia is probably VN era as it is yellow thread instead of the black thread (subdued) of my era.

Sorry to disagree blunder. The corporal's chevrons are not wide enough to be that early, although this one is displayed point down, which was how chevrons were worn during the Civil and Indian Wars. Turn the picture upside-down and look again. Felt olive green chevrons sewn to a black wool backing would be after 1920 until early WWII, when they started to do woven insignia.

This style tank officer's insignia was introduced in 1951, but I think only in metal, I'm not sure when the cloth versions were first used, but likely in the 60s. Your insignia is yellow on fatigue uniform green, and in the 1969 these bright colors were replaced by subdued black, so I'm pretty sure this insignia is Vietnam era from the 60s.

That's OK Chris. I was wrong once in my life. Maybe "right" once in my life. LOL! You are the man in the know & not me.
