Amazing flat top trunk with original reproduced interior.
    A very time consuming restoration.
    Thanks for looking!

Holy crow that's beautiful!!! This trunk is pristine -- wow! Okay -- some questions -- did you paint the hardware with silver paint? Is that flat black on the tin or satin? When you say restoration interior -- what does that mean?? Did you somehow duplicate all the interior? The slats are flawless -- how did you sand them down so nicely around the rivets? I am such a hack at this stuff so I can see when someone puts alot of time and effort into a project like this one. The interior is simply stunning.
ps. Thanks for the 3m superfine tip -- helped alot to further the shine...

pps. I have a trunk with similar hardware and was told it was most likely a Romadka Brothers trunk -- so this one may very well be the same maker.

Beautiful restoration, you can see that a lot of time went into restoring this trunk. I love the interior. Viewing trunks like this makes me strive to improve my refinishing skills. I need to work on patients for the details needed to produce something beautiful as you have done here. The amazing work you did on the interior is the icing on the cake on this one.

Beautiful trunk but "original reproduced interior" confuses me. It does not seem that it could be original and reproduced.

      Trunkman'
The hardware is not painted,it is the original tinning, and when it's still there it really comes out nice.
The black on the metal is a satin finish.
As far as the interior goes, it was in pretty rough shape. I was able to
repair the pictures using photo shop and get enough of all the trim pieces by copying and repairing them on photo shop as well. There was only one good corner piece, which was all I needed to make the other 15 of them. Then all of this was applied over an off white cloth that was used on all the lids. So it looks exactly like the original interior. The blue envelope is original.
The slats were in just that good of shape,so they didn’t need a lot of attention, which helps a great deal. Some times you can get lucky.
Oh! and did I mention ,the exterior was covered in that crystallized tin. That was probably the worst part of the project.
I don't really think this is a Romadka trunk,if it was I'm pretty sure I would have already heard from Jim .
Thanks for the comments and stay tuned,I have many more!!

Sorry about the confusion,Hope my comments to Trunkman clear things up. I should have stated" Reproduced to look just like the original"
      Thanks for your comments

I see a lot of these old Steamer Trunks in Hawaii, but most are pretty rough due to time, humidity, Hurricanes, and such. Yours is absolutely beautiful!
