I picked this up at an estate auction. I had no intention of buying it until I heard how the bidding was going. I thought to myself, "I cannot let that bike sell for such a small price," so I began to bid. Low and behold I was the winning bidder. What we have here is an Italian 1973 Indian 125-5. The bike had set in a barn for over thirty years until I bought it. It has 119 original miles. Bonus being it also has a clear title and is street legal! I just got the thing running with minimal effort. New spark plug and battery plus a little minor wiring. The biggest thing I had to buy for the bike was an external ignition coil. It still has a flat tire in the rear and needs a little carburetor work but it is running. I hope to have it ready to be ridable very soon and hope to take to the Wauseon swap meet just to show off.
Nice barn find congrats!!
awesome find ! wow
No, I will trailer it there if I have it ready in time. But I would ride it once there. I just found out today in Ohio turn signals are required after '68. Being a '73 I would need to get turn signals. So I guess for now it's just off road.
Thanks for all the comments!!
nice find................
Score !!! Love it !
Thanks for all the love. Makes me feel like all the work is worth it.
Very Nice Find!, Congratulations! The late 60's, and early 70's were the height of off road motorcycle racing in the USA, and the world, such as motocross, enduros, hare and hound, flat track, speedway, etc., etc. I remember so many motorcycle companies throwing their hat in the ring, but do not remember your beautiful Indian 125, but it was out there. Thanks for sharing it with us. Here is a link with some more Indian eye candy!
