I believe this screen is Japanese, it has been with me for a few years now, bought online. It is hand painted, has signature on left panel, and folds up quite neatly. The screen stands approximately 3 - 4' high (I should have measured it) and a crane and waterlily scene in soft earth colours. The back of panels are covered similar to the pattern on the front borders. I hope you like it.
Google for Japanese BYOBU :-)
This would be relaxing
Yes kyratango that's it of course ! Thanks for rattling my memory ! I do love the Japanese artwork and this one sits nicely in my bedroom and blends nicely with its soft colours. There use to be a lot around but the last couple of years have become less available and quite expensive (for me anyway) so I have missed out on some beautiful pieces. I measured up properly and it stands 35" x 59" (or 89cm x 150cm).
Hi oldandsilly, thank you for your comment and luv :)
Yes Zowie, you are right, very serene, just like me LOL ....
Thanks to everyone for the luvs, I appreciate you looking and acknowledgement. X
What is a table screen, if I may ask? :)
Hi Kat (may I call you Kat?) you sure can ask ! I may not know the answer but ..... I can tell you a Table Screen is a very small/ miniature (about 12 inches wide x approx 6 inches high) decorative screen that was placed on the meal table. Not sure of purpose but decorative anyhow. Mine is not a table screen but known as a BYOBU as kyratango has reminded me, a "piece of furniture" that was used mainly to protect from cold draughts and were painted hand painted in beautiful colours and scenes. Some were gold laid depending on the wealth of the owner. (Note: no gold in mine) They also sometimes have like mine brass bracket to mount on the wall as an art piece. I'm open for correction. X
Also, I posted a link of some embroidery works advertised on ebay fyi. Hope you can open the link. :)
You may indeed, and thank you for your reply. :) As for the embroidery links, where are they posted?
I pasted into you Chinese Dragon Embroidery Post. The two advertised aren't nearly as nice as ours though.
Ah, okay, thanks, I'll take a look! :)
Hm. The post was removed. :( Thanks, LuluX, though, for thinking of me, very appreciated. :)

Are you sure? I can still access your embroidery post. Have another go.:)
That's OK oldandsilly, easy to do. There have been some absolutely beautiful screens that have passed me by as no one seemed to want them 10 - 20 years ago but now even the reproductions are expensive ! :)
Hi Lulu, sorry been busy all the day, yes, the link doesn't work for me.
OAS, thank you for explaining what a table screen is, I wondered. :)
Ooops sorry about all that blank space, my cat helped me to write that post, lol. :P
LOL .. Have to laugh at that one Kat !! :)
Thank you for the luv SEAN68 :)
So lovely!
