I tried to post this last night but my computer had a melt down after all information loaded. Grrrrr. I could not help impulse buy of this water pitcher, its stands at 10.5" at highest point. I understand from research that it could be a mix of brass, copper and perhaps some other metals. It has cleaned up beautifully, YES I HAD TO CLEAN THE DIRT OFF LOL, and has a beautiful patina with the warmth of copper glowing through the intricate hammered patterns across the body of the pitcher. Comments would be most welcome and appreciated regarding thought on its history. I think I was lucky to come across it. Hope you like it.
Agree that it is a copper, brass, and possibly nickle water ewer. Possibly handmade repousse pattern. This were popular in the late 19th, early 20th century. However people still collect them today.
Thank you robin56 for acknowledgement and information on the pitcher. I appreciate the information that is shared. Thanks also for the luvs robin56 and aghcollect.
