This is another ring that was a gift from my Mom.It actually came from Thailand probably about 35 to 40 years ago.My Mom was a nurse and she worked with nurses from Thailand and when they went home they always brought back tons of jewelry to sell.The sad part is,this gold is not stamped,maybe it was not required in that country I don't know for sure.My Mom being the shopper that she used to be had it checked out to make sure it was 18K and sure enough it was.I love this ring but never wear it because its just too big,I preferred not to have it sized down to fit me not knowing how much gold would have to be lost in the process.
Your ring is lovely, the color of the stones is beautiful, almost looks like rubies in your photo. I agree with you not to size it, but perhaps try getting a clip-on band to size it down to your ring size, that way you can wear it and preserve the integrity of your heirloom. Personally I have had bad experience with a simple sizing job, that found my shank half the thickness when I got it back.
