I think that this too is Welz, and perhaps made for the Christmas Market. As with my previous post it is double cased. Hopefully you can see the garlands, bows, handles and dimples. The dimples are four around the 'bulb' at the top and four more around the 'skirt'! The bows are at the ends of the garlands. Finally there are three little flowers in relief, not painted.
Even for victorian Welz this is an awesome amount of decoration! However I just had to buy it.....it will become part of Christmas.....another angel for the mantelpiece!
Height 18 cm./7 inches
Nice shape!
And not one I'd seen before, Ian. Found in Ulverston too!
Love it!!
Glad you like it, Lee.
Cool piece Peggy!!
Thank you, Craig, the 'bulb' part is similar in shape to the dimpled rose bowl I posted recently. Just a passing thought!
Thank you, nutsabotas, for a lovely compliment :-)
I love how they brought the handles down to the bottom... That plus the added decoration, so very nice!
Thanks, Rick, this type of handle appears on other Welz pieces too.
