This one I picked up at a local auction, completely covered in silver spray paint and missing 2 pieces of M hardware.Spray paint has to be the worst paint to remove. looking back on it,I'm glad I went through the pain. The only trunk I have ever done in gold as well.
Thanks for looking
It's really quite a stunning trunk -- the m's stand out so nicely as a contrast. Simply gorgeous interior work -- wow! Total trunk junkie eye candy...
Fantastic work you did! And beautiful trunk!
I absolutely love the completed interior :-)
Wonderful job bringing this one back, I'm sure lots of hours were spent getting the paint off. It was well worth the time to restore this beautiful trunk. As trunkman said eye candy for trunk junkies. I'm on the lookout for a Martin Maier, I don't have in my collection. Hopefully, when I find one it hasn't been painted.
gorgeous ! beautiful restore .
Ditto on Manikin's remark!
Awesome job ,spray paint is the toughest. The end result sure did justify the hard work. Great to see a rare trunk brought back.I have only found 2 in 15 years, and lost both of them to others, After seeing this one I have to find another.
Thanks everyone for there thoughtful
