native american stone axe ???

Hi, i would like to know if anyone could tell me if this is a stone tool of some sort . It measures about 10" and is heavy. and the wider end has a sharper edge and the narrow end seems to have damage as to hitting a object. I found this rock hunting in west central minnesota and was hoping it was a axe head. Although i havent seen this style i would love to hear anyones thoughts. if its just a rock , its a cool rock . thanks.
