Bought at a local auction last Saturday. Sold as "figural lamp" which tells you something. Anyway, the first pic is at the auction preview. I didn't have much to spend, and I knew I was only putting in a Hail Mary bid, so I took the pic so I could search for another one someday. I was amazed when the auction house called and when did I want to pick it up? I took it apart, and it is spelter, though the painter did a wonderful job. The base is cast metal with a faux marble paint, very well done. The crystal is Czech cotrolled bubble crystal with a flat bottom to increase light dispersion. I don't know how much it helps, because this is not a lamp you would be able to use for reading. It's more of a lighted sculpture than a figural lamp, and would make a good night light. Obviously, the style of hair, clothes, etc. is Roaring Twenties.
These were called radio lamps because they were of the right size to sit on a 1920s radio and provide a focal point when the family would get together in the parlour to listen to the next installment of The Lone Ranger.
Mine is on my 1941 Philco Model 42-390.
