Bought this last week from a local second hand shop. It doesn't look like a print, as it is on a heavy piece of "cardboard-y" type stuff. I don't know who Stanislaus is, can't find anything on the net, and have no idea what those little symbols appearing in the bottom left hand corner mean. There was, once upon a time, a label on the back.
I will post a second set of photos.
This is not my area of expertise, so I hope somebody knows who Stanislaus is...
Thanks!
Stanislaus Soutten Longley:

I'm seeking for more infos :-)
kyratango - HOW do you find this stuff??? LOL! THANKS!!
That watercolor "Masquerade" is signed "LONGLEY" . I wonder if the one I have was done by an admirer/follower since the signature is different.
Hehe! Mysteryyyyy! I Googled for watercolour masquerade Stanislaus :-D
As we can see on the left the front of a gondola, you may search for Venise carnaval masquerade?
Perhaps it was a gift for a relative and he signed with his first name ????
kyratango - I wish my brain worked the same way yours does.....!!!
I sent an email just now to: http://www.blouinartinfo.com/contact-us
I couldn't find this particular picture on the net, either. Hmmm...
I have exactly the same picture by Stanislaus - it's old and on a board has been in my attic for years I originally bought it from an antique fair some 35 years ago. I took it to a dealer who assured me that it is a print rather than original but the print is very realistic and looks just like a water colour - same as yours.
