This is another French purchase - a highly iridescent / mirrored ball vase with red, white and green confetti/spatter and much smaller blue dots. Although not a shape group I am very familiar with, I think this a ball vase. It is 21.5cm high x 19cm diameter.

Very cool shape- I know it. A coupla years back I bought a marquetry in deep Iris decor from Vinnie G, It had a weird feel about it...I thought at the time it was cut off from a taller vase. I did find a taller vase that matched the bottom portion so I was justified in returning the piece.... then I found a different Marquetry vase in the same shape... this piece of yours makes me believe that even though the same mold could have been used for taller vases this one appears to be a standard production shape...I mean maybe it had a frog but I think this IS the shape that was intended. cool piece!! I love this shape

If it had a longer neck, it would be huge!

I don't think these need frogs. Smaller vases yes but not this.
