Hi everyone! Beautiful trunks. I just had a question... I snagged this beauty this morning and was wondering if anyone would be able to guesstimate how old it is? Like what decade/time period? Thanks so much!
My Guesstimate is sometime after 1910 to the 1940s. When I see the double lid guides, and those type of latch bolts , As well as the spacing of rivets on the edge binding ,I tend to think of Seward trunk and bag, who incidentally makes trunks to this day.Although one can't be sure without a label . There were many manufacturers of this type of trunk. Horn luggage ,Tronick, Belber etc. much luck!
The sticker showing Shawnigan Lake school could be an indicator as to time period as well. This is a boarding school on Vancouver Island British Columbia and was founded in 1916. containing a neat little history all it's own.
