These brooches were both made by Bernard Instone. The silver oval brooch has a large Rose quartz in the middle and the othe stones maybe agate. This is typical of what I think of his work with stylised leaves semi precious stones and the very neat finish of the back. it is marked silver but unfortunately this brooch hasn't a makers mark it was probably made during the 1930s.
The the silver leave brooch, to me is unusual I don't think I have ever seen a Instone brooch without stones or enamel work. It was probably more recently made during the 1950-60s but not sure. This brooch has a silver mark and B.I for makers mark. During the 1950s- 60s his two son started running the family business.

Very pretty, Peasejean. I have a brooch with glass stones quite similar made by Liz Claiborne. :)
Thanks for introducing me to Instone's work Jean. Your collection of his work is wonderful.
It's my pleasure Karen, I'm glad you enjoy his Jewellery, he also made many other things, his Silver Tea caddy spoons are amazing.
