Nice shape and colors on this Salvation Army find. It stands 10 1/2 " tall with subtle copper aventurine dust against the black amethyst background. The top is rough cut and not polished. You can actually see the rim is thicker on one side than the other. I really don't think this one is Chinese and maybe even from Italy by V. Nason & Co. from their "Avventurina" line. -Mike-
The Chinese are making a lot of this aventurine glass but I agree it's more likely Italian, or some other (probably Eastern) Euro make.
The shape is wrong for Chinese, as is the base and aventurine spatter.
One of the nicest I have seen in this style Mike!
Thanks Karen....you know your stuff so I'm pleased with your assessment and that we concur....lol :)
wonderful masterpiece
Thanks kivatinitz :)... a masterpiece sounds pretty good to me !
I've been looking into this one a little more and it seems to match Italian maker V. Nason and Co. "Avventurina " line. A few on Ebay in smaller sizes but same colors and similar shapes.
