Huge Loetz sweet or dressing table bowl with lid circa 1925 in lilac colour in Tango style...absolutely huge...
I have a few of these now and I love them...this one is huge! And that gorgeous sound when you flick the glass, has that purest of sound of crystal....
They are acredited to MP but isn't everything Loetz makes...??The look great on an amethyst plinth....
Think I might rearrange my tango cabinet and pop it next to the vase...
Hard to know if the handle is amethyst glass as most of this range is but sgainst the lilac it looks black. On the red and yellow it looks amethyst...
Enjoy
yes thanks Alfredo, I put it up against my amethyst tango and plinths and it is def black as I thought...
Is Periwinkle the colour that Loetz gave it or your name for lilsac?
Thank you for commenting. I always love to hear from the greatest Glass expert of our time :)
now I just need to find a black plinth!!!
Love the color....fantastic :-)
Gorgeous Anne. Great find - I never see this style here!
thanks Karen. Yes I was excited to pick it up. She looks beautiful next to the orange one and the lilac or periwinkle vase :)
Oh Anne, what a beautiful colour! I was going to say 'powder blue' before I read 'lilac' & 'periwinkle', lol. I find it can be hard to capture true colour in photos, I often have to take many before getting the most accurate. Whichever blue hue this is its divine, I love it!
AnneLanders, what a beautiful piece you find here.
Congratulations on your new addition.
Alan
Thanks Fran. It really is a real lilac colour as I cal it. I have a couple of bits from this set in this colour but can you see why I just don't bother yo come in here...how you been?
Yes I love it and enjoy collecting these sets as I go along. But I decided after last year not to list everythng as I go. I just want a quiet life... :)
I'll have to pop back at yours and have a sticky beck....
Thanks Alan, good to see you too....I notice youve been adding loads again you busy beaver :) I'll take a visit now :)
To anyone who thinks they can boss ppl around, tell them what photos to take or bring their character into question then just don't bother posting on my pages as your comments will only be deleted and reported.
I don't owe you or anyone an explanation as to what I call something as I do. There's been too many arguments in here over the last few years and I will not be party to it. Now you can feel upset about that, it's your right. Or you can just get over the idea that I'm not interested in being told what to do. I am ill and not at your beck and call to get up and take photos because you demand it. Move on to someone else who wishes to let you bully them around, I'm just not interested- thank you.... :)
AnneLanders, remember Beaver was the emblem of Quebec City, in some time, LOL
Alan
argh, are you canadian Alan?
Yes, born in Quebec but living in Ontario now.
Alan
Good Day AnneLanders..... always love reading through your postings, usually very informative, as this one is also. As we all know I'm not a "glass" person, but trying to learn as we go....seems there are several note worthy people here on CW and maybe someday I'll know a touch more than I do now. Really enjoy your collection and just wanted to drop in again and comment on this shade of Blue...love the warmth of the shade.
Kerry
thats very sweet of you Kerry, thank for the nice words...how are you going ith yourcollecting?
ah Kerry the watch man...how are you going???
and thank you to those beautiful ppl for the loves... :)
Anne, sorry slow with response, old and slower everyday seems like...I'm doing fine and thanks for asking. Again, really enjoy looking through your collection, yours and a few others have gave me a new prospective as to how many different decors and makers of these things. I always enjoy learning something new, keeps me entertained and breaks away from the norm
oh thanks Kerry,
Well dont forget or I may not have told you but I'd love a couple of Thunderbird watches for my grandsons please if you can assist in your travels?
Cheers Anne
very beautiful!!!
Hi Anne, you asked for advice on how to find Rhoda Wager pieces. Best advice I can give is to do lots of research first, especially on: http://www.powerhousemuseum.com Then trawl ebay, her pieces occasionally turn up on etsy and RubyLane.
Pieces with her little name tag WAGER go for more, and those with opal are the most collectible and harder to get. Good Luck
thanks kiwi paul.
Really appreciate it...
Yes I saw one on ebar with her name but decided not to bid as it wasnt that nice and not what I thought her standard to be.
I have looked at her other work and it's outstanding, isnt it...if you see something you think I might like to look at, feel free to hola me at annelanders@gmail.com
Many thanks Anne
oh and thank you Sean as always
