Hello Again,
This is another recent acquisition. Luckily someone at the shop held it aside for me to look at and let me take it home before we decided on a price.
The plaque measures approximately 7" x 10", the over all size, approximately 14" x 17".
It's heavy, the detail on the relief is exquisite. Unfortunately I don't see a signature anywhere,.....or any other markings.
It charms me.
My guess is that it's an Italian piece, late 1800's?

this is really beautiful! reminds me of some pieces i've seen at Augustus St. Gaudens' home 'Aspet' which was just up the road from where i grew up.
the work looks a bit Italian, but the frame is 100% dutch, imo!
